Your Opportunity
As an Electrical BIM Manager – Industrial Buildings, you will lead the digital delivery and coordination of building electrical systems across a wide range of projects. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes specific to electrical systems—including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications infrastructure.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, and designers, you will ensure high-quality, coordinated BIM deliverables that meet project standards, codes, and client requirements. The role requires strong technical expertise in Revit MEP and other BIM software, as well as the leadership ability to mentor and guide electrical and BIM staff in best practices and workflow optimization.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage BIM workflows for electrical systems across projects of varying complexity and scale.
- Coordinate with engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure accurate and clash-free model integration.
- Develop, manage, and maintain Revit models, templates, and content libraries for electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to create and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project standards.
- Conduct model audits, quality checks, and compliance reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to Stantec BIM standards.
- Collaborate with other discipline BIM managers for rollout of corporate BIM Standards and for aligning of BIM delivery goals
- Mentor and train electrical engineers, designers, and technologists in Revit and BIM best practices.
- Provide technical guidance on the modeling of electrical systems such as lighting, power, life safety, and communication systems.
- Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Identify and implement workflow automation and efficiency improvements using tools such as Dynamo or Python scripting.
- Assist project managers in digital design delivery, project scheduling, and coordination of BIM resources.
- Support the development and documentation of new BIM standards, protocols, and quality control procedures.
- Stay current with emerging BIM technologies and trends to support continuous improvement in digital project delivery.
- Develop and coordinate other digital delivery tools and templates (e.g. Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Matterport, Copilot, etc) as required
- Build and mentor a team of BIM professionals to support the Industrial Buildings Electrical team as workflows mature and workloads increase
- Report progress of objectives to the Principals in charge as required
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Comprehensive understanding of BIM processes and standards for building electrical systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360).
- Solid grasp of the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant building codes and standards is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical design principles, construction documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination is an asset.
- Familiarity with visual programming (Dynamo), scripting, or automation workflows is an asset.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models and resolve technical and spatial conflicts effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train others in BIM processes.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience in large-scale industrial or military projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and additional BIM-related tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Enscape, Twinmotion) is beneficial.
- Security clearance eligibility is a must for this position. Candidate must be open to a security clearance check.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, or related field, or a diploma in Electrical Engineering / Architectural Technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM coordination or management roles
- Experience working in a consulting, design-build, or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment preferred.
- Certification as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or equivalent BIM accreditation is an asset.
- EIT, P.Eng., P.L.Eng., Intern Architect, or Architect designation (or eligibility) is considered an advantage.
Typical office environment work. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
- Locations in Lower Mainland - BC-$86,900.00 - $126,000.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
