About the role

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day operational revenue activities in the accounting function of the Company. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition and participates in integration of acquired companies into the finance shared services function.

The Revenue Accountant supports team management with implementation of standardized processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and controls and procedure documentation with a shared services mindset.

The Revenue Accountant will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of Other Revenue in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Other Revenue is defined as revenue not considered to be Commissions or Agent of Record (AOR) revenue.
  • Perform full-cycle processing and month-end close activities related to other revenue and receivables, including subledger reconciliation, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Create and distribute invoices, as applicable.
  • Reconcile and apply cash receipts.
  • Maintain subledgers by adding new clients and carriers, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Commissions Revenue, Trust, and FP&A teams to review and reconcile other revenue figures and resolves any issues.
  • Support other month-end close processes as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline other revenue operations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be successful as a Revenue Accountant with People Corporation, you will need:

  • University degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of revenue, accounts receivable, and accounting principles.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
  • Proficiency in using Workday and Sage software for revenue management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a similar finance-related role would be considered an asset.
