This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our Client office at a minimum 5 days a month- subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:
. Analyze current and related source systems, existing schemas and ETL to understand entities, relationships, and business rules
. Design and deliver conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support migration to the target Azure data platform
. Produce and maintain key modelling artefacts:

• Conceptual, logical, physical models
• Entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs)
• Data dictionary, metadata catalog, and data lineage views
• Modelling standards, naming conventions, and guidelines

. Define source-to-target mappings from legacy structures to cloud-based data lakehouse / warehouse models
. Collaborate with data engineers on model implementation (tables, views, Delta models, partitioning, performance design)
. Work with business SMEs to validate data definitions, hierarchies, KPIs and transformation rules for data domains
. Support QA and reconciliation by defining validation rules between legacy and new platform
. Contribute to data governance for data: lineage, impact analysis, and controlled evolution of models over time

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

. 7-10 years of experience wit physical and relational data modeling.
. Strong experience in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) for DW/analytics platforms
. Proven ability to translate business concepts logical models physical data structures in DBs, DWHs, and data lakehouses
. Hands-on experience with ERDs, data dictionaries/metadata catalogs, data lineage and modelling standards
. Solid understanding of data warehousing and data engineering concepts, including:

• Data warehouse design
• Star schema / Snowflake schema
• DataMesh architecture (data products)
• Data Pattern 5.0

. Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing complex source systems (OCR, upstream apps, legacy warehouses)
. Experience in migration/modernization projects (on-prem to cloud, OCR/data platform re-platforming)
. Familiarity with Azure data stack: Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks / Spark, Azure Data Factory (concepts of pipelines & orchestration)
. Understanding of data quality, governance, metadata and lineage practices
. Good communication skills and ability to work closely with business SMEs, architects, and engineering teams
. Training/Certifications (nice to have): CGI internal data engineering trainings, Azure Cloud Fundamentals, Azure Data Fundamentals, plus hands-on project experience
