The Community and Recreation Facilities Branch is looking for dynamic, energetic, professional and qualified individuals to instruct Learn to Play Pickleball Programs for youth and adults. The main working locations for this program are Clareview Community Recreation Centre, Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre & ACT Aquatic and Recreation Centre with the possibility of other City-wide Recreation Centres.

What will you do?
- Deliver and lead group Pickleball instruction in the time frame and manner that is determined by the class description
- Ensure classes are progressive, challenging and can adapt to varying levels of participant skills and abilities
- Encourage patrons to improve on their progress in class
- Maintain a high level of enthusiasm throughout the class
- Contribute to the City's Learn To Play Pickleball Community by communicating in a positive and constructive manner
- Sub classes and attend professional development workshops as needed
- Ensure gymnasium spaces are kept tidy and orderly before, during, and after classes
- Maintain program statistics, such as attendance, evaluations and incident reports
- Attend training as required
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
Assets:
- NCCP- Community/Fundamental/Developmental sport specific certification or equivalent
- Experience in coaching or instructing Pickleball
Skills required for success:
- Ability to teach progressive sport skill development for Pickleball
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead effectively and work within a team environment
- Knowledge and experience in working with youth and adults
- Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies
- Embracing a Culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion
- Applicants may be tested
Conditions of Employment:
- Possession of valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Hours of work: Up to 10 hours per week. Working at various City of Edmonton locations is required
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Salary: $33.000 - $45.000 (Hourly)
