The Role: The Vancouver Parts Distribution Centre is looking for a responsible, hardworking, and out-going Student Supervisor for a medium sized group of hourly employees for our warehouse operation! You will be responsible for documenting process knowledge, updating materials, and standardizing work expectations job instruction. The selected candidate will participate in GMS activities and daily administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives, health and safety and housekeeping.
- Maintains records to track and improve departmental performance.
- Assist with GMS projects, administration, and scheduling.
- Develop and revise work instructions as required.
- Utilize statistical methods and data to drive continuous improvement.
- Perform data analysis and create metric dashboards (Spreadsheets/ Power BI).
- Participates in forward planning activities, supporting departmental Business Plan Deployment (BPD) boards.
- Communicate between departments and other business units to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives.
- Assist in the development of the facility and processes using the plan for change and management of change process.
- Achieve business results by creating a work environment that fosters a positive and inclusive culture that is based on feedback and recognition.
- Participate in employee relations WOC activities and planning.
- Assist with general administrative tasks.
- Perform other tasks, as required to support business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's (2nd, 3rd and 4th year students) degree in one of the following areas: Business, Operations, Management, IT or Data Analytics.
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 12-month term (3 consecutive semesters) starting January 2026
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrates strong leadership and written/verbal communication skills
- Highly adaptable with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Fundamental digital literacy including proven understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Individual is expected to manage the travel with his/ her own vehicle. (There is no public transport available )
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous supervisory, or team leading experience
- Previous warehousing experience
- Project management experience
