Owner Operator
Overview:
As an owner operator you will be completing deliveries through the lower mainland using your
own vehicle.
Responsibilities:
-
Complete deliveries as assigned by dispatch
-
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck,
-
Ensure that all documentation is in order when driving and report all safety hazards and
accidents
- Ensure the accurate recording of cargo information, distance logs, fuel consumption
and expenses into logbooks
- Additional duties, as required
Expectations:
Company information should be treated in a highly confidential manner. You have specific
responsibilities and are expected to use your knowledge and skill to make a positive
contribution to our corporate goals.
- Possess strong communication skills, be able to multitask and work under minimal
supervision.
- Be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced team environment; be energetic; pleasant
and willing to learn.
- Commit to new initiatives and programs that promote continual improvement and
efficiency.
- Foster a safe work culture for all procedures, including but not limited to:
o wearing PPE if required.
o reporting all injuries, claims or near-misses, unsafe or hazardous conditions.
Requirements:

Must own your own vehicle that is 10 years old or newer.

Local experience with good written & verbal skills in English
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an abstract with under 6 points for the past 3 years.

Comfortable and able to drive in all types of weather conditions.

Criminal background check and drug & alcohol test will be required.

You must always represent Number 8 in a professional and courteous manner.
