The Manager of Client Reporting Tax leads a dynamic team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and client-focused reporting and tax services. This role combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, and agile team development to ensure excellence across the team's strategic priorities: accuracy and compliance, efficiency and timeliness. What you will do: Leadership & Team Development

  • Conduct 1:1s and performance assessments.
  • Lead career pathing, goal setting, and performance coaching.
  • Oversee onboarding, interviews, and team bonding activities.
  • Foster team independence through agile coaching and mentorship.
  • Manage team task assignments and skill development

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure timely handling of both daily and cyclical tax reporting tasks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve communications including advisor/client letters, IT tickets, and year-end guides.
  • Monitor and review KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Act as Scrum Master to remove impediments and support agile maturity.
  • Review and approve exception requests, ensuring minimal disruption to critical functions while keeping a service mindset
  • Review and approve mock and production tax receipt testing
  • Approve tax form delivery to clients and reporting of tax files to relevant government authorities

Escalation & Issue Management

  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of reporting and taxation issues.
  • Manage escalations and ensure timely follow-up on critical items.
  • Implement controls to mitigate risk of reporting issues occurring

What you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience in financial services or client reporting.
  • Strong understanding of taxation, remittance, and regulatory reporting requirements for CRA, MRQ and IRS.
  • Agile certification or experience as a Scrum Master preferred.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Clear and confident communicator across all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
  • Not afraid to take on challenges and drive solutions forward.
