You support our team as

R&D Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize formulations, including the selection and evaluation of new raw materials, while ensuring compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements (e.g., FDA, CFIA, ISO standards).
  • Perform formulation, testing, and prototype work at laboratory scale and support scale up and production trials
  • Analyze ingredient interactions, stability, sensory properties, and overall product performance
  • Support innovation and patent related activities through structured documentation (experience in the patent environment is an advantage)
  • Provide technical support to Sales and customer projects, including the presentation of product capabilities and applications
  • Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, product data sheets, and application guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with international R&D and business partners in the USA and Germany
  • Lead and develop a local R&D team of 2 employees
  • Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure efficient project execution
  • Prepare and present R&D related reports and KPIs
  • Take responsibility for cost center management, including budget planning and cost control within the R&D area

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • Several years of experience in product or ingredient development; experience in colors, proteins, or extrusion is an advantage
  • Experience with patents or intellectual property topics is a plus
  • Hands on mindset combined with a structured working style and strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an international, interdisciplinary environment
  • Experience working with SAP is an advantage
