The ideal Dental Receptionist for our team enjoys working collaboratively with others and behind the scenes to organize, implement systems and structure and ensure the practice runs efficiently.

Queen Street Dental Centre is nestled in the vibrant community of Leslieville, in downtown Toronto. We are a busy, multi-disciplinary office providing a full spectrum of dental services.

We are a neighbourhood clinic that treats patients as individuals and we get to know each and every one of them.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time position for a receptionist who will be part of our amazing team at QSDC. You will represent our dental practice at our front desk and be part of a highly capable and dynamic administrative team supporting our clinic’s operations.

The perfect candidate for this role will be a highly organized and personable individual with a strong customer/patient focus.

The part-time position schedule will include a balance of daytime and evening shifts, along with one or two Saturdays per month 9-3pm (closed on all long weekends), totalling approximately 30 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet patients and follow appropriate health screening procedures
  • Accountable for managing and appropriately optimizing appointment schedules
  • Answer telephone, respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain patient records
  • Obtain patients' dental records from other offices
  • Manage inbound and outbound lab cases and invoices
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
  • Ensure all patients have next appointment scheduled
  • Make outbound reactivation calls
  • Process inbound and outbound mail and courier deliveries
  • Collect and accurately record payments from patients
  • Submit electronic claims to insurance providers
  • Other assignments from our treatment coordinator and office manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You are above else a team player
  • You are highly organized
  • You are a people person
  • 1-2 years experience in a dental office preferred
  • Experience with Abeldent software preferred
  • Experience working with external vendors (Insurance companies, labs)
  • Proficient in Excel and other MS Office programs
