Position Title: Reliability Engineer
Employment Type: Student – Co-op/Intern, existing vacancy

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform qualification and regulatory compliance testing for next generation optical switching products.
- Perform qualification of electrical and optical sub-components.
- Collect then analyze data and compare results with vendor submitted data.
- Analyze and characterize failures.
- Collect and analyze test, vendor, and field data.
- Calculate reliability statistics (FIT, MTBF, etc.).
- Prepare reports.
- Learn how electro-optical products are tested and how/why they fail.
What We’re Looking For
Education:
- 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
- You must be registered full-time or part time, in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
Skills:
- Understanding of optical systems and optical instruments;
- Understanding of electrical and optical measurements;
- Understanding of Statistics;
- Previous experience working with databases, processing large sets of data, and summarizing using AI Tools;
- Previous experience with Python, Visual Basic, or other scripting language would be considered an asset;
- The ability to scrutinize and interpret data in order to provide meaningful conclusions;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to operate effectively in highly technical and multi project environment.
- Organized and motivated individual with attention to detail;
- Focused on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner;

- Pay Range: $24-35/hr
