Based in Toronto the Head of Integrated Asset Management and Development Services will report to the President and CEO for Colliers Canada and serve as a key member of the Canadian Senior leadership team. This role integrates asset management, investment strategy, and development management execution to drive long-term value creation, operational excellence, and market leadership for Colliers’ clients. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and growth of the asset and development management businesses, including both third-party services and co-investment joint ventures. This role will provide enterprise-wide oversight of the existing client assets under management and serve as a key relationship manager for partnerships and joint ventures, develop new business, lead cross-functional collaboration, and represent the organization in high-stakes negotiations, partnerships, and industry forums.

The Head of Integrated Asset Management and Development Services will lead a team that oversees the full lifecycle of real estate assets—from acquisition through development, leasing, property management, and disposition—with a focus on maximizing cash flow and total return performance. The team provides strategic guidance on investments, value creation, and market positioning while ensuring strong governance, financial oversight, and reporting. Additionally, the team leads the planning and execution of development projects nationwide across all asset classes, including feasibility study, entitlement, tendering, construction delivery, and stabilization of new ground-up construction and major renovation programs.

In this role, you will…

  • Define and lead the national strategy for integrated asset management, investment, and development services, ensuring alignment with corporate vision and long-term growth objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of investment, asset, and development functions to ensure cohesive execution and value creation across the portfolio.
  • Lead the national team to ensure the successful performance of both co-owned and third-party managed assets, ensuring financial targets, operational benchmarks, and all other KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with institutional investors, capital partners, asset owners, and industry leaders to enhance reputation and drive business growth. Oversee and participate actively in sales and marketing efforts, including contributing materially and measurably to the sourcing of new business opportunities and securing fee income generating mandates.
  • Represent the organization in high-profile negotiations, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships and represent Colliers at industry events and conferences.
  • Guide capital planning and investment structuring, including equity partnerships and debt financing strategies.
  • Champion innovation, technology adoption, and best practices across asset and development management functions.
  • Lead and mentor senior leaders across asset management, investments, and development teams to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration across the entire Colliers organization.

What you’ll bring

  • Advanced degree in real estate, finance, urban planning, or a related field; MBA or equivalent executive education strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive leadership experience in asset management, investments, and development, with national or enterprise-level oversight.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale portfolios, executing complex developments, and delivering sustained financial performance.
  • Deep expertise in capital markets, investment structuring, and real estate development.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, business development and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of ESG principles, regulatory frameworks, and urban development trends.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence enterprise-wide decision-making.
