Dream Experience Coordinator

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Provincial travel required)

Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Executive Director

Every Child Deserves a Little Magic.

At Alberta Dreams, we believe every child facing a severe chronic or life-threatening medical illness deserves the opportunity to experience joy, hope, and unforgettable memories.

Since 1986, Alberta Dreams has fulfilled life-changing Dreams for children across Alberta, creating moments that inspire courage, strengthen families, and bring communities together.

We're looking for someone extraordinary to join our team.

This isn't a typical program coordination role. We're searching for a compassionate relationship builder, a "Fairy Godmother" behind the scenes who thrives on creating meaningful experiences, building lasting connections, and making every Dream Family feel supported from their first conversation through Dream fulfillment and beyond.

If you're passionate about people, love creating memorable experiences, and believe kindness changes lives, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

As the Dream Experience Coordinator, you'll serve as the primary guide and advocate for Dream Families throughout their Alberta Dreams journey.

You'll build trusted relationships with children and families, healthcare professionals, donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners while coordinating unforgettable dream experiences across Alberta.

Every day is different. One day you may be meeting with a Dream Family to learn about a child's biggest wish. The next, you'll be collaborating with a pediatric hospital, coordinating travel, attending a fundraising event, or capturing a powerful story that inspires donors to help make more dreams come true.

This role is equal parts relationship management, project coordination, customer experience, and community engagement.

What You'll Do

Create Exceptional Dream Experiences

Serve as the primary contact for Dream Families from referral through Dream fulfillment. Guide families through the application and planning process with empathy and professionalism. Coordinate Dream logistics, vendors, travel, experiences, and special details. Conduct family interviews and occasional home visits. Ensure every family receives a compassionate, personalized, and memorable experience.

Build Meaningful Relationships

Develop strong partnerships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, social workers, Child Life Specialists, and referral partners across Alberta. Represent Alberta Dreams at community events, healthcare meetings, and networking opportunities. Build relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community organizations. Help expand Alberta Dreams' referral network throughout the province.

Share Stories That Inspire

Capture Dream Family stories and testimonials. Work with the marketing team to gather photos, videos, and impact stories. Support donor stewardship by connecting supporters with the impact of their generosity.

Coordinate with Excellence

Prepare Dream recommendations and Board reports. Maintain accurate program records and budgets. Coordinate vendors and community partners. Manage multiple Dream experiences simultaneously while ensuring exceptional service.

What We're Looking For

You are someone who naturally puts people at ease. You are organized without being rigid, compassionate, without losing professionalism, and proactive in finding solutions. You love bringing people together and believe exceptional experiences are created through thoughtful details and genuine care.

Qualifications

Experience in customer experience, nonprofit organizations, healthcare, hospitality, event coordination, community engagement, or relationship management. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project coordination abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Comfortable building relationships with families, healthcare professionals, donors, and community partners. Valid Alberta driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Alberta.

Assets

Experience working with children and families. Nonprofit experience. Event planning or volunteer coordination. Knowledge of Alberta's healthcare system. Pediatric medical terminology or nursing experience. Experience using CRM or donor management software.

Why Join Alberta Dreams? Every Dream begins with someone who cares.

When you join Alberta Dreams, you'll become part of a passionate team dedicated to creating hope and happiness for children and families facing some of life's greatest challenges.

You'll have the opportunity to

Make a meaningful difference every day. Build lifelong relationships with incredible families. Collaborate with healthcare and community leaders across Alberta. Help shape unforgettable experiences that change lives. Contribute to a growing organization celebrating nearly 40 years of impact.
