As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support as a part of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Reliability Team in Fort McMurray. In this position you will utilize your sound technical skills to provide technical support to operations, maintenance and outage organizations, and prepare high quality design packages, as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 7 or more years of experience in E&I maintenance/reliability engineering within the industry /operating plant
- Expertise in a variety of electrical equipment namely relays, VFD’s, motors & switchgears
- Knowledge of design, maintenance, testing and commissioning of E&I equipment
- Experience with management of change (MOC) process and workflow
- Proven stakeholder management and non-authoritative leadership skills
- Knowledge of medium & low voltage Rockwell/Siemens/ABB VFD’s is preferred
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance during troubleshooting and incident investigations
- Participate in PU meetings and assist with field visits
- Complete E&I engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements, ensuring compliance with standards
- Prepare high-quality design packages and detailed specifications
- Analyze equipment data to develop end-of-life strategies and failure reports
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers with design improvements/failure replacements as required
- Lead technical excellence through active participation in E&I Suncor Technical Excellence Networks (STENs)
- Support small capital and expense projects that are primarily E&I-focused (motor upgrades, VFD replacements, etc.)
- Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance E&I equipment and infrastructure
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of Syncrude Mildred Lake in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
