About the role

Job Summary:

Reporting to the site Administrative Officer(s) and the District Principal of Careers, this position is responsible for working in collaboration with the classroom teacher(s) and the site Administrative Officer(s) and the District Principal of Careers in providing service to students.

-**Duties to Commence:**June 1, 2025 -**Hours:**7 hours/day, 5 days/week -**Work Year Base:**Eleven (11) months per year -Annual Salary Range:$57,381.52 - $71,716.44

Job Duties:

  • Support the delivery of a careers-based program including, but not limited to, Work Experience 12A & 12B, Youth Work in Trades 11A & 11B & 12A & 12B, World Citizenship 12, Global Intercultural Studies 12 and ConnectEd.
  • Act as a liaison between instructional and administrative staff at the client Independent Schools and the clerical staff, teaching staff, site Administrative Officer(s) and District Principal of Careers in School District 60.
  • Supervise School District 60 clerical staff specifically tasked to support the Independent School Program.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships while working closely with partner schools.
  • Implement careers programs in newly partnered schools and support further training or retraining of staff to improve the career program in existing partner schools.
  • Promote work experience, apprenticeship and career pathways at schools and community events.
  • Coordinate the collection of registration and support documentation required for student enrollment.
  • Maintain the Digital Data Management System (DDMS) student file record system including registration, support, reporting and any other related documents.
  • Maintain the program database of student records ensuring currency and accuracy of all student enrollment, course progress, and program related data.
  • Collects and records data as directed by the teacher which will assist the teacher in monitoring student progress.
  • Use positive communication, guidance and intervention techniques to encourage student and partner school success.
  • Coordinate travel for the purpose of supporting the Independent School Program.
  • Oversee remote office operations, client schools relationships, and marketing promotions
  • Participate in specific workshops at the direction of the site Administrative Officer(s) or the District Principal of Careers.
  • Stay current with policies and procedures regarding the Ministry of Education and Child Care Career Program and the Ministry of Education and Child Care Online Learning Program.
  • Stay current with audit requirements for the Ministry of Education and Child Care Career Program and the Ministry of Education and Child Care Online Learning Program.
  • Performs other job related duties as directed by the site Administrative Officer(s) or the District Principal of Careers.

Qualification:

  • Minimum - 2 Year Diploma - Business, Marketing or related field of study
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Knowledge and ability to support career-based classroom instruction at a secondary level.
  • Experience working with educational careers programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with different computer technologies used within the program, specifically digital file management, databases (FileMaker & Skilled Trades BC), BrightSpace LMS and Office or GSuite tools.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of student files and records.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities.
  • WHMIS Certificate and other online safety training provided by the District to be completed within the probationary period.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of the team.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employment.
