Position Overview The Senior People Generalist plays a key role in supporting employees and leaders across a globally distributed organization. This role combines hands-on HR operations with employee relations, people programs and leadership partnership.
The position works closely with the VP, People & Culture (based in the US) and collaborates with leaders and employees across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and India to deliver high‑quality People support and initiatives. The role contributes to both day‑to‑day People operations and broader HR initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
This position provides an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to deepen their experience across global HR operations, employee relations and organizational initiatives while developing toward a People Business Partner career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day People support to managers and employees across multiple regions, responding to HR-related questions and guiding managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and People practices.
- Support managers in addressing employee relations matters such as performance concerns, workplace conflicts, and disciplinary processes, partnering with the VP, People & Culture on more complex cases to ensure alignment with company policies and applicable employment legislation.
- Ensure HR practices, documentation, and processes remain compliant with applicable employment legislation and company policies across supported regions.
- Manage and continuously improve core HR operational processes, including onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, offboarding processes, employee records, benefits administration, leave management, and policy implementation.
- Assist with organizational and team changes by supporting People processes and ensuring smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment activities where needed, including interview coordination, candidate experience and onboarding.
- Support the administration and maintenance of HR systems, including HRIS and ATS, ensuring accurate employee data and efficient HR workflows.
- Lead efforts to organize and maintain HR documentation, policies, and operational resources, improving internal repositories (such as SharePoint or similar platforms) to ensure accessibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records across HR systems and internal documentation platforms.
- Support the coordination and execution of global People programs and initiatives, including engagement surveys, performance review cycles, and other People initiatives.
- Support People with data reporting and analysis by maintaining HR data accuracy and assisting with the preparation of HR metrics and workforce reports.
- Work closely with the VP, People & Culture and global stakeholders to help ensure consistency and alignment of People policies, processes, and programs across regions.
Required Qualifications Must to Have
- 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within fast-growing or global organizations, demonstrating increasing ownership of HR operations and people programs.
- Experience supporting employee populations in both Canada and the United States, with solid knowledge of relevant employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, employee concerns, and policy guidance.
- Strong experience managing core HR operations, including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, leave management and HR policy administration.
- Experience supporting recruitment coordination and hiring processes, including candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding support.
- Proven ability to review, organize, and improve HR operational processes, ensuring documentation, workflows, and internal systems are well structured and efficient.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems, maintaining accurate employee data and supporting reporting needs.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple HR priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed or global teams
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting global or multi-region teams across North America, Europe, or APAC.
- Familiarity with US employment practices and HR compliance frameworks.
- Experience working with HR tools such as SharePoint, Google Workspace, or similar collaboration platforms to manage HR documentation and workflows.
- Exposure to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement programs, or culture-building activities.
- Experience contributing to HR operational improvement projects, such as cleaning up HR processes, documentation, or internal systems.
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Deel or similar global HR systems.
