Wage: $18.35/hour (varies by site)

Overview Paladin Security is hiring On-Call/Casual Security Guards to protect and support our valued clients across the Hamilton region . As part of our team, you'll help ensure the safety of hospital staff, patients, and visitors through vigilant patrolling, professional communication, and quick response to emergencies.

Responsibilities
- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including hallways, parking areas, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate and observe security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately.
- Access Control: Monitor entry points to ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
- Respond to Emergencies: Act swiftly and appropriately during medical, fire, or security-related incidents.
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist patients, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations calmly and effectively.
- Report Writing: Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and incidents.
- Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure adherence to visitor and patient protocols.
Requirements
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- COVID-19 vaccination (two doses)
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
- Valid G Class Driver's License with the last 3 years of a clean abstract
- Fluent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
- Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants without these certifications may complete Paladin's UoF/MOAB training prior to onboarding
- Training is unpaid but covered by Paladin, with a 6-month commitment required
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
