Our member is looking for a Skilled Reconstruction Technician based in Barrie, ON, to join their team.
Job Description Our member is a disaster recovery, property restoration, renovation and construction company with over 50 years in business.
Summary: The Skilled Technician plays a key role in supporting emergency response and reconstruction projects by performing demolition, repair, and rebuild tasks on residential and commercial properties. Working under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the technician is responsible for maintaining clean and safe job sites, handling materials, following detailed work scopes, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. This position requires strong construction experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and professionalism in every customer interaction.
Skilled Tech Duties
- Assist the Site Supervisor and other members of the production team in completing emergency and reconstruction work, within the time estimated.
- Follow the scope of work outlined in the production package on tear outs, rebuilds, installations and clean ups, minimizing deficiencies.
- Offer input on improving methods while staying within industry guidelines.
- Use labour, equipment, and materials efficiently; report variances or change orders.
- Participate in de-construction, repairs, cleaning, painting walls, installing floors, ceilings and the like both inside and outside structures and buildings.
- Support Production Department by communicating any and all work, services or goods, relating to claims and jobs that are ready to be added or removed from the Master schedule.
- Relay property owner concerns to the appropriate team members promptly.
- Electronic Technology Tools: uses cell phone or other electronic devices and mobile apps to label and upload photos, capture and create panoramic photo tours using Docusketch, and upload and other important documentation as required.
- Report any hazards, accidents, or near accidents immediately to the Production Manager.
- Request and document company purchase orders (PO) for all approved job-related purchases.
- Maintain accurate time reporting on labour sheets and ensure all receipts are properly labeled with job name, number, and PO.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a proficient trades person; interior renovations an asset.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices.
- Experience in the Restoration industry is preferred.
- Attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Type : Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20-$25/hr
