Role Summary:
We are recruiting for a Lead, Data Scouting within the Technology & Operations group. The Data Scouting team supports firm-wide data sourcing, third-party data partnerships, and onboarding of external data to meet investment and business needs.
This role operates at the intersection of investment teams, data, and vendor management. The successful candidate will lead select sourcing initiatives, support vendor relationships, and play a key role in the execution of data acquisition and contract renewals. The role requires a balance of independent execution and collaboration, with growing ownership across sourcing and vendor activities.
Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support data sourcing initiatives aligned with investment strategies and business priorities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into structured sourcing approaches
- Evaluate data vendors, including traditional and alternative datasets, and provide recommendations
- Coordinate end-to-end data onboarding across investment teams, data engineering, and operations
- Contribute to assessing data value, cost, and scalability to support acquisition decisions
Vendor Management & Commercial Execution
- Manage day-to-day vendor relationships, including ongoing coordination and issue resolution
- Own the execution of contract renewals, including timeline management, stakeholder coordination, and documentation
- Support pricing reviews and contribute to renewal discussions by preparing analysis and recommendations
- Support and, where appropriate, lead renewal discussions for standard agreements, with guidance on more complex negotiations
- Partner with senior team members on non-standard agreements and higher-complexity negotiations
- Monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities for optimization, consolidation, or cost efficiencies
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Data Enablement
- Contribute to the development and refinement of data sourcing processes and best practices
- Support tracking and reporting of data usage, vendor activity, and sourcing outcomes
- Communicate updates and insights to stakeholders to improve visibility into data opportunities
- Collaborate across teams to improve efficiency and consistency in data onboarding and renewals
Scope & Impact
- Operates with moderate autonomy across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Owns execution of renewals and contributes to sourcing and vendor decisions with meaningful business impact
- Engages regularly with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Builds subject matter expertise in data sourcing, vendor management, and commercial processes
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in financial services, data, consulting, or a related field
- Experience leading or supporting cross-functional initiatives
- Working knowledge of vendor management, contract renewals, and commercial processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders
