About Us

The Ministry of Finance is the lead ministry in executive government for ensuring the accountability of public funds and effective financial management. It plays a pivotal role in supporting sound governance, shaping fiscal policy, and managing the provincial budget.

Your Priorities

  1. Leadership & Strategy: Assist in the development and implementation of the Unit's strategic plan, aligning with the ministry's goals and objectives.
  2. Audit Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of diverse audit and advisory engagements per the Unit’s work plan, ensuring compliance with global professional standards and best practices.
  3. Risk Management: Identify and assess risks, providing actionable recommendations to strengthen the ministry's risk management framework and foster organizational efficiency. Promote teamwork across divisions to identify synergies, share insights, and support integrated solutions.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the Ministry of Finance Audit Committee, executive leadership team, and other stakeholders to create an environment of trust and transparency.
  5. Team Development: Mentor, coach and develop a high-impact internal audit team, cultivating a culture of excellence, innovation, and professional growth.

What You Possess

  • A professional designation in auditing (e.g., CIA, CISA) and/or accounting (e.g., CPA);
  • Extensive experience in internal auditing and risk management;
  • Influential communication and presentation skills;
  • Motivation to self-start action items with minimal supervision;
  • Drive to apply innovative audit practices in a future-focused environment;
  • Strategic thinking to drive organizational change across complex environments;
  • Passion about continuous improvement and adding value;
  • Planning proficiency, particularly when managing multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Self-development goals while encouraging the same of your team; and
  • Desire to thrive in a non-static and challenging role.
