Tacten is seeking a Long-Term Maintenance Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to join our team supporting Imperial Oil Cold Lake. In this role, you will perform high-angle insulation work with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety.

Position Details
- Rotation Monday to Friday
- Shift Length 9 hours/day
- Start Date ASAP
- Scope Piping and pressure equipment insulation support
- LOA Not provided — local candidates from the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area required
Compensation
- Journeyperson base rate $47.16/hour (Prairies Region)
- IRATA premium applies for Levels 1, 2, and 3
- Overtime Paid at 1.5x after 8 hours/day
- Provide insulation support for piping and pressure equipment to maintain system efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Remove and reinstall insulation materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, or foam on pipes, vessels, and equipment.
- Measure, cut, and secure insulation using approved fasteners, bands, and adhesives to meet specifications.
- Perform inspections and assist inspection teams by exposing and re-covering insulated systems as required.
- Identify and repair or replace damaged or degraded insulation to restore performance.
- Complete steam trace repairs and ensure insulated systems meet operational and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and inspection teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures, including when performing high-angle or rope access tasks.
Trade & Rope Access Requirements

Journeyperson Insulator status

Non-ticketed applicants must provide proof of 6,000+ hours

3rd-year apprentices may be considered (must provide proof of hours)

IRATA Level 1 certification (minimum) or willingness to obtain

IRATA Level 2 and 3 candidates are also encouraged to apply

Comfortable and experienced working at heights

Physically fit and capable of performing high-angle work safely
