Position: Credit Analyst (Intermediate)

Type: Fulltime Permanent / Hybrid

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm)

Location: Surrey, BC

Position Overview:
The Intermediate Credit Analyst supports credit decision-making for equipment finance transactions, focusing on the transportation industry. Working in an independent finance company environment, this role evaluates credit risk, structures practical financing solutions, and collaborates closely with Sales, Funding, Customer Service, and Collections to support profitable growth and strong portfolio performance

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and adjudicate equipment finance transactions within delegated authority.
  • Assess financial statements, cash flow, credit history, and transportation-related collateral (tractors, trailers, fleets).
  • Structure deals with appropriate terms, pricing, and security.
  • Prepare clear, concise credit rationales.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and complete annual reviews.
  • Partner with Funding to ensure approval conditions are met prior to funding.
  • Support Sales and Customer Service with timely, risk-balanced credit decisions.
  • Assist Collections with delinquent accounts, restructures, and loss mitigation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and risk standards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis within equipment finance, leasing, or commercial lending.
  • Experience with transportation industry credits (trucking, logistics, fleets, owner-operators).
  • Strong financial statement and cash flow analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of secured lending and equipment collateral.
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in an independent or non-bank finance company.
  • Exposure to Funding, Customer Service, and/or Collections.
  • Familiarity with Canadian lending practices and credit bureaus.

  • Solution-oriented, hands-on approach.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
