Summer Clerk – Customer Service / Administrative Clerk

Capital Moving & Storage – Kingston, Ontario

Location: Kingston, ON.
Role Type: Seasonal
Hourly Rate: $19.05 – 30-35 hours per week

Overview of the Role

Capital Moving and Storage is seeking aCustomer Service / Administrative Clerkfor the summer peak season. This role provides customer service, reception, inside sales support, and administrative assistance to help ensure smooth operations.

The position is Seasonal and runs fromMay through the end of August 2026and is ideal forstudents or early-career individualsseeking hands-on office experience in a dynamic environment!

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the primary Customer Service / Operations Support Clerk, duties may include:

Customer Service & Reception

  • Provide professional reception services and handle incoming telephone inquiries.
  • Greet walk-in customers and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and staff to support service delivery.

Sales & Lead Management

  • Respond to and track incoming sales leads.
  • Ensure qualified leads are passed to the assigned sales consultant quickly and accurately.
  • Schedule move survey appointments as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare move files and documentation for upcoming orders.
  • Assist with government contract orders when required.
  • Scan, upload, and manage documents in digital systems.
  • Coordinate with operations staff to relay service times and updates to customers.

  • Professional telephone and reception skills; ability to handle inquiries confidently and courteously.
  • Clear, positive, and effective verbal communication; strong listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities: able to multi-task and stay structured.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficiency withGoogle Workspace,Adobe, andDocuSign.
  • Comfortable learning new software and digital workflows.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new information and apply it effectively.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administrative or reception roles preferred.
  • Sales experience (retail or telephone) considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the household goods moving or storage industry is an advantage. -**OSSD (or equivalent)**required; some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
