Investment Product Manager
The Investment Product Manager is a key contributor within the Product Intelligence Team in Mackenzie's Product division. The team delivers product intelligence, competitive insights, analytical support, and strategic content across Mackenzie's investment platform to stakeholders across Product, Distribution, Marketing, and Investment Management. This role combines product intelligence, market analysis, stakeholder partnership, and process improvement to enhance how product information and insights are developed, delivered, and scaled across the organization. Working closely with Product Specialists and cross-functional partners, the Investment Product Manager contributes to investment insights, product positioning, competitive intelligence, and client-facing content while helping improve operational efficiency and consistency. The ideal candidate brings strong capital markets knowledge, intellectual curiosity, excellent communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset, with experience managing complex initiatives and collaborating across multiple business functions.
Product Intelligence & Insights
Contribute to product positioning, competitive differentiation, and investment insights across Retail and Institutional channels in partnership with Product Specialists and other stakeholders. Conduct competitive analysis across assets, flows, performance, product positioning, and market trends. Partner with Product Specialists, Portfolio Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop product narratives, presentations, and strategic messaging. Create and maintain content for presentations, commentaries, fact sheets, web content, sales materials, and other client-facing communications. Support customized client, consultant, and RFP requests with data-driven insights and analysis. Develop market perspectives, training materials, and product support resources for sales teams. Build analytical tools, reporting frameworks, and scalable processes to improve information delivery and team effectiveness.
Research, Strategy & Business Partnership
Analyze market developments, competitive positioning, client trends, and industry developments to support product strategy and business priorities. Provide portfolio updates, performance attribution analysis, and investment insights to internal stakeholders. Contribute to strategic initiatives through business analysis, market research, and cross-functional collaboration. Build strong partnerships across Product, Investment Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other business units. Coach and mentor Associate Product Managers by strengthening their product knowledge, guiding their work, and supporting their professional development. Translate complex investment and market information into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, content development, and operational processes through standardization, automation, and continuous improvement. Develop scalable tools, templates, and best practices that improve efficiency, consistency, and quality across recurring deliverables. Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes and improve information flow across the organization. Support technology-enabled initiatives that enhance productivity, reporting, or knowledge management. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify processes and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in asset management, financial services, investment research, product management, or a related analytical role. Strong understanding of capital markets, investment products, portfolio management, and asset management industry dynamics. Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across Product, Investment Management, Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies. Experience working with data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence tools; familiarity with automation or programming (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI) is an asset but not required. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CFA designation (or progress toward completion) is an asset. Fluency in French is an asset.
