Schedule: Variable schedule based on the academic calendar, can include evenings and weekends.

Working location : Incumbents must be willing and able to work on both Campuses (SGW and Loyola) as required.

SCOPE

Reporting to the Manager, Service Desk and Training the incumbent provides front-line technical support to end-users both remotely and in person across various spaces on-campus, including service counters, classrooms, auditoria, video-conferencing facilities, labs, special venues and in remote locations as required. They provide back-up support in other service areas as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide front-line customer service and counter support, including regulating equipment loans, receiving and processing shipments, and redirecting support tickets to the appropriate tier. Assist students, staff, and faculty in effectively using instructional technology for their academic programs, curricula, and projects.
  • Provide logistical support to technicians by delivering, setting up, dismantling, and decommissioning audio-visual and computer equipment in learning and collaboration spaces, Service Centres and remote locations, as required.
  • Assist the technicians in the new computer deployment process, including tagging and engraving, and staging of standard equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and check-ups on AV equipment, computer workstations, and software in learning and collaboration spaces on campus, Service Centers and, if required, in remote locations.
  • Maintain and update information in knowledge bases, on equipment inventory and various documentation, preventive maintenance activities. Act as a backup in other service areas as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma (DSS)
  • Familiarity with IITS and Concordia University an asset.
  • Strong customer service focus and skills.
  • Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken English and basic knowledge of spoken French (Level 3)
  • Experience with a wide variety of computer hardware/software and audio-visual equipment.
  • Familiarity with audio visual and IT enterprise management and ticketing systems is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the WebCheckout platform, EMS (Event Management System), Crestron Fusion is an asset
  • Knowledge of the complete suite of technology in both MAC and PC environments.
  • Apple, Microsoft or ITIL certification desirable.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and troubleshoot technical issues to guide end-users toward solutions. Ability to understand and learn audio-visual equipment, computer hardware and software quickly.
