What you’ll do:
As a Registered Nurse, (PACU), you will ensure the highest standard of care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient recovery, manage potential complications, and provide compassionate support, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Prepare and maintain the PACU, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and sufficient supplies throughout and at the of day.

Continuously monitor patients' post-anesthesia, recording vital signs, assessing consciousness levels, and providing timely nursing interventions as needed.

Prepare patients for surgery, including IV starts, medication administration, surgical site and consent verification, and chart completion.

Assist with positioning patients on the OR table when required.

Accurately document all patient care in EMR and PACU records.

Collaborate effectively with the OR team and anesthesiologists to support patient care.

Perform additional tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic.
What you will bring along:
- Active membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Knowledge of surgical procedures performed at GraceMed.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with patients and collaborate with the team.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care aligned with GraceMed’s values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records), PMS (Patient Management Systems), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities within a team.
- Clear understanding of patient safety protocols and precautions.
- Proven ability in assessing patient conditions and responding with sound clinical judgment.
- Active membership with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) with Professional Liability Protection (PLP) or CNO approved PLP is required.
- Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certified.
