We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented full-time Production Operator for our St. Marys, ON location. This position will be agile and cross-functional, supporting operations across Plant 1, Plant 2, and Pet Food as needed. The successful candidate will play a key role in responding to evolving procurement and business needs, aligned with our purpose of Feeding the Future. Responsibilities include a mix of shipping/receiving and production operator tasks, all contributing to product quality, production flow, and food safety standards.

About The Role: Driving precision, powering production—your hands make it happen

Responsibilities:

  • Receive ingredients and ship finished feeds per company standards
  • Load bulk trucks and unload incoming ingredients accurately and efficiently
  • Operate the production line and associated machinery; includes climbing ladders and working at heights
  • Complete all paperwork required for assigned tasks, ensuring proper documentation for food safety and quality standards
  • Follow strict manufacturing practices and safety policies
  • Conduct multiple tests on ingredients and finished products as needed
  • Perform preventive and sanitary maintenance tasks to ensure plant cleanliness and ingredient quality
  • Perform general housekeeping and minor maintenance tasks
  • Support company standards through teamwork and collaboration
  • Interact professionally with customers and co-workers to ensure a positive experience
  • Accurately enter received products into the operating and quality system
  • Adhere to safety and food safety requirements per Trouw Nutrition protocols and other regulatory bodies (CFIA/HACCP/SGS)
  • Endeavor to be productive at all times; perform other duties as required

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • 2–3 years of experience in a grain facility, mill, or manufacturing industry preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to be coached and learn processes
  • Forklift and skid steer experience is an asset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills, numeracy, and accuracy
  • Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Passion for your work and a positive, proactive attitude

Expectation from the Role:

  • Full-time, Shift-work rotation includes day, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Must be able to lift 25kg; and ability to regularly bend and twist.
  • Occasional requirement to work at heights
  • Must possess a valid driving license
  • Forklift driving experience (an asset)
