Responsibilities:
The Fabricator is responsible for creating and constructing patterns and guides as templates for metal cutting, assembling, fitting and welding metal sections and plates and installing fabricated components in the final products. The Fabricator will be required to use a variety of light and heavy machinery to make their necessary cuts and to assemble the fabricated components into complete units.
Major Responsibilities
- Create and construct templates and guides for metal cutting.
- Operate machinery, including brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and heavy machine tools such as radial drills, end mills, and edge planers.
- Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to plan work sequences, lay out reference points, and determine material requirements.
- Assemble, fit, weld, and install fabricated metal sections, plates, units, and subunits.
- Preheat workpieces as required to support fabrication.
- Monitor fabrication quality, material usage, and report material or production issues.
- Ensure accuracy, timely completion, and effective prioritization of assigned tasks and projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and all workplace safety policies.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to supervisors promptly.
- Accurately complete work orders, time cards, and required documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of fabrication standards, practices, techniques, and compliance requirements.
- Cross-train on other functions as required and perform other assigned duties.

You Possess:
- Completion of either a 3-4 year apprenticeship or have accumulated 4+ years of experience in the trade.
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writting
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Must pass physical to ensure bonafide job requirements can be fulfilled.
