About the role

The salary range for this position is $48,700. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. The Food Service Manager (FSM) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the retail food service unit, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, safety, and financial accountability.

This role leads by example, supports and develops team members, and ensures operations align with Compass Group Canada standards and client expectations. The FSM plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance programs.

Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to all unit associates Promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards Leads by example to drive engagement, productivity, and guest satisfaction Oversee daily retail operations to ensure readiness and smooth execution of service Maintain a visible presence on the floor during peak service periods Coordinate food production, replenishment, and service standards Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment Respond to customer inquiries and resolve concerns professionally Support catering and special functions as required Manage controllable costs, including food, labour, and supplies Oversee cash handling procedures, including audits and secure daily deposits Complete daily sales reporting and submit required reports through company systems Monitor inventory levels, adjust ordering, and communicate discrepancies Maintain all required records, logs, and documentation Enforce Compass Quality Assurance and HACCP standards Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, WHMIS, and company policies Report safety concerns, incidents, and equipment issues promptly Support onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of associates Promote a positive, respectful, and service-focused work environment Reinforce accountability while supporting team development Coordinate with the Chef on production and menu execution Maintain production and usage records consistently
