This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering based in Canada. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of engineering delivery, customer success, and product innovation within a fast-paced SaaS environment. You will lead and scale Forward Deployed Engineering teams responsible for implementing complex, mission-critical solutions for enterprise customers. The role blends technical depth with people leadership, requiring the ability to guide architecture discussions while also coaching and developing high-performing engineers and technical program managers. You will act as a key connector between customers, product, and engineering, ensuring field learnings directly influence product evolution and delivery excellence. This is a highly visible position where your decisions will directly impact customer outcomes, renewal readiness, and overall platform success. You will help define scalable delivery models, improve operational structure, and strengthen execution across multiple customer-facing engineering pods. Accountabilities: Lead and grow Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) and Technical Program Management teams, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management. Define and evolve delivery models, ensuring scalable structures, clear ownership, and efficient execution across customer-facing engineering pods. Serve as an escalation point for complex technical and customer delivery challenges, ensuring timely resolution and alignment across stakeholders. Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to translate customer insights into actionable product and platform improvements. Oversee resource planning, headcount allocation, and delivery capacity balancing against customer commitments and strategic priorities. Use data-driven insights to connect delivery performance with utilization, customer outcomes, and renewal readiness. Lead high-stakes technical and executive customer conversations, translating technical complexity into clear business impact. Ensure consistency in engineering quality, delivery standards, onboarding, and enablement across teams. Support the development of scalable implementation frameworks for SaaS deployments across complex enterprise environments. Requirements: 6+ years of professional experience in SaaS, software engineering, or technical delivery roles. 1–2+ years of leadership experience in a player-coach or formal management role (FDE, solutions engineering, or similar). Strong technical foundation in SaaS architecture, APIs, and data models, with the ability to participate in deep technical design discussions. Experience working in complex B2B implementations; exposure to fintech, insurance, or underwriting software is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead customer-facing technical discussions with senior stakeholders and executives. Familiarity with SQL and JavaScript for reviewing implementations and supporting technical validation. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering teams. Demonstrated ability to remove blockers, drive execution, and maintain momentum in high-complexity environments. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with a focus on team development and delivery excellence.
