What We Are Looking For Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) provides easily accessible routine mammography to women over the age of 50 with or without a physician’s referral. OBSP provides reminder letters to patients recalling them at the one or two year mark as required, and helps arrange follow-up for patients who may need further investigations.

The OBSP, being a program of Cancer Care Ontario, also collects data from which statistical information can be gathered to further study breast cancer, its prevention and treatment.

What You Bring To The Role

• Experience in OBSP role is an asset
• Experience with scheduling in Meditech is required
• Experience with establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with all patients, physicians and staff, including notifying patients of pre-appointment requirements (eg. Fasting, sedation, pre-appointment bloodwork, etc.)
• Facilitate and triage daily patient referrals
• Working in collaboration with OBSP and the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging to develop policies and procedures and develop/implement goals and objectives
• Communicate to care areas (OBSP, mammography, Ultrasound, BHC etc) and provide feedback to these areas
• Co-ordinate and manage all High Risk referrals as part of the Assessment Center requirements
• Respond to all referrals and inquiries in a timely, professional manner
• Receive and assess referrals for completeness
• Function as a super user for the ICMS portal/database
• Participation in quality assurance initiatives (chart audits, film audits, yearly performance reviews, pull waitlist entry daily from CCO to ensure accurate wait time recording)
• Participation in process improvements and expansion of OBSP services
• Entering data and documentation within the expected timeframes into the OBSP data-base (ICMS), and other areas as required
• Preparing and sending letters to patients
• Answering telephone enquiries and relaying accurate messages
• Coordinate and schedule MRI, CT, ultrasound appointments for OBSP patients
• Coordinate and schedule appointments for Interventional Radiology patients
• Coordinate inpatient Transesophageal Echocardiography tests
• Manage order entry of data for Wait Time Information System (WTIS) information
• Other related clerical duties as required
• Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
• Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Work Schedule The successful candidate will work 7.5 hour day shifts.
