About the role
We are hiring for a unique relief full-time Occupational Therapist position to support our 16 bed inpatient psychiatry unit at the Penticton Regional Hospital. This is a small unit with a high functioning multidisciplinary team. Working in collaboration with community MHSU supports through the in-reach process ensures seamless continuity of care for mental health clients. This position is responsible for the supervision of a Rehab Assistant who co-facilitates therapeutic group work including some community integration activities. This is a relief opportunity expected to run until August 2027 or the return of the current incumbent.

**Days of Work:**Monday to Friday
**Shift times/Hours of work:**08:00 to 16:00

About the role: The Occupational Therapist works independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and may be providing a full range of occupational therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community settings.

Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Implement therapy programs to promote functional independence and optimal health outcomes.

Provide consultation, education, and support to clients and their caregivers.

Prescribe and recommend appropriate equipment to enhance daily living.

Participate in program planning, quality assurance initiatives, research, and departmental meetings.

Offer guidance and work direction to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.

Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
Full practicing registration as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Valid BC Driver’s license.
