We are seeking staff who are interested in exploring one or more of the following areas: front counter, fleet services, transcription, purchasing, records management, and more.

Applicants should be able to provide reasonably open availability and ideally be committed to the Delta Police Department as their primary employer. This position is most suitable for students working toward their degrees, new graduates, and individuals seeking a new direction in their careers.

Nature and scope of work
These positions may include clerical work, typing, file maintenance, operating police databases, interacting with the public, handling non-emergency reports, maintaining inventory, and/or other duties.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

  • Ability to operate software, computers, and office equipment

  • Ability to perform a variety of clerical and recordkeeping tasks.

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, and/or internal staff, and/or external agencies.

  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.

  • Some positions may include physical requirements such as the ability to operate a motor vehicle, use tools, and/or lift a moderate amount of weight.

Required Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations
Security clearance will be required and maintained throughout employment.
