The Opportunity:
Global Raymac has an opportunity for a CAD Operator for our growing team. The successful candidate will work with a team of land surveyors, survey technicians and other drafting staff to complete survey drawings for our Oil & Gas sector throughout western Canada.
Responsibilities

Prepare Oil & Gas survey plans
-
Contribute to the cost effective and timely production of survey drawings
-
Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) to produce detailed and concise drawings with technical accuracy under supervision from the Project Manager
-
Process information from preliminary GPS and total station field data, field notes and sketches in order to create accurate drawings and plans
-
Build relationships with clients and team members.

Collaborate with team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
Requirements
- Diploma in Geomatics and/or CAD from an accredited institution
- Prior related experience in a drafting role with 3-5+ years’ experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with local experience in the survey and geomatics industry.
- Experience working with oil & gas survey plans
- Demonstrated understanding of basic survey principles and survey plan requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Software is required; knowledge and experience with CAD/Mapping/GIS software is an asset
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, communication (written & verbal) and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a busy, high-performing, deadline‑oriented team
- Ability to use survey software including MicroSurvey and Trimble Business Centre, as well as previous field survey experience in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan would be an asset
The compensation package for this position will be commensurate with the level of responsibility of the position as well as the candidate’s qualifications.

Global Surveys was founded in 1986 and Raymac Surveys in 1978, with both companies firmly establishing themselves in the fabric of Alberta’s Land Surveying community. After serving the Energy and Municipal sectors across the province for more than 25 years, the companies joined forces in 2010 to form Global Raymac Surveys and we haven’t looked back since!
Our team, which now consists of more than 200 members, hails from throughout Canada with experience in a variety of disciplines. From certified Land Surveyors to ambitious students-in-training, professional Engineers to qualified drafters; we draw upon our combined skillset to provide our clients with a wealth of expertise ensuring they receive the best possible service.
This diversity has also contributed to a key component of our vision: growth. Over the years, Global Raymac has embraced expansion through the addition of our Lloydminster and Medicine Hat offices, with the acquisition of HIW Surveys to form our Grande Prairie office. And most recently in 2017, the addition of our offices in Edmonton and also in Fort St. John, British Columbia. As we look to the future, we are excited by the prospect of continuing our evolution, developing our team, and serving the people of Canada.
