The opportunity: As a Security Analyst, your primary purpose is to fortify our organization's digital infrastructure by conducting comprehensive security configuration reviews, managing security incidents, and implementing robust measures to harden our environment. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our systems, data, and networks against potential cyber threats.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being the security champion for Cloud, SAAS, and physical workstations.
  • Collaborating with system administrators and IT teams to enforce security policies and configurations.
  • Providing recommendations for security enhancements, based on industry best practices and evolving threat landscapes.
  • Addressing and resolving risk and compliance related issues.
  • Maintaining alignment with the chosen security framework (eg. NIST CSF).
  • Providing security input into architecture and networking design, deployment and operation.
  • Performing technical security vendor reviews as part of third party risk management.
  • Serving as the first line of defense in addressing and resolving security-related incidents.
  • Available after hours to work on high priority security-related incidents.
  • Managing the IT Security configuration for enterprise applications, operating systems, and cloud environments.
  • Collaborating with other teams within IT and the business to deploy security controls in a non-disruptive manner.
  • Overseeing and directing the immediate response to security incidents.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of continuously evolving career in technology.
  • 2+ years of IT Security focused work.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, CCSP, CISM, CCNA are an asset.
  • Experience with NIST CSF is an asset.
  • Experience in establishing technological governance.
  • Understanding of the Incident Response process.
  • Proficiency interacting with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • An excellent attention to detail.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
  • Excellent problem-solving and IT curiosity.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of how to maintain, operate and improve MS Defender, MS Purview, O365, MS Intune, vulnerability scanners, email security tools.
  • Creating and deploying IT Security controls for M365, MS Azure and AWS.
  • Maintaining a SIEM and create meaningful dashboards and alerts.
  • Understanding and implementation of technical security compliance frameworks and standards to ensure alignment with industry regulations.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management.
  • Ideal candidate should have proven hands on experience with performing penetration tests and vulnerability management activities.
