About the Open Education Resource Coordinator Role: Reporting to the Associate Dean, Longo Faculty of Business, the Open Education Resource (OER) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Open Education Resource (OER) initiatives and online learning environments within the Faculty. The incumbent sources, develops, curates, and maintains high-quality, accessible, and open (no-cost or minimal cost) learning resources that support student success and align with Humber’s academic, accessibility, and quality standards. In addition to supporting OER initiatives, the Coordinator provides operational and technical support for assigned online courses and related projects, ensuring that course content, digital resources, and learning activities remain accurate, accessible, current, and aligned with course and program requirements. Working collaboratively with faculty, Program Coordinators, and academic leadership, the incumbent supports instructional design activities, maintains online course sites, assists with the integration of educational technologies, monitors and communicates course-related information, and contributes to the effective delivery and continuous enhancement of the online learning experience.

If this sounds like you, keep reading: Education The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Education, Library and Information Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The incumbent will also have experience supporting online learning environments and learning management systems, with strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER), digital accessibility standards, Microsoft Office applications, and educational technologies such as Blackboard Ultra, D2L and Articulate Rise is preferred. Knowledge of instructional design principles and AI-enabled educational tools is considered an asset. Experience/Skills The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas: Open Educational Resources (OER), instructional design support, learning management systems (LMS), educational technology, digital content development, online learning administration, academic operations, or a related field. The incumbent will demonstrate: Experience sourcing, developing, maintaining, or supporting digital learning resources and online course environments, preferably within a post-secondary institution. Experience using and supporting Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard Ultra, D2L Brightspace, Moodle) and related educational technologies. Experience with Banner or comparable student information systems. Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and other productivity and collaboration tools. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications are considered an asset. Experience with digital authoring, document management, and accessibility best practices, including creating and maintaining accessible digital content and resources. Excellent organizational, administrative, and document management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate multiple concurrent projects. Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume, fast-paced academic environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to exercise discretion when responding to technical, operational, or student-related issues. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and provide responsive support while maintaining a student-centred approach. Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER), educational accessibility standards (e.g., AODA/WCAG), instructional design principles, and tools such as Articulate or similar e-learning platforms is considered an asset. Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and content development tools, and the ability to evaluate and appropriately apply emerging educational technologies, is considered an asset.
