HAYS SCHOOL
Hays is a small Hamlet 27 km east of Vauxhall on Highway 524. Our staff of 4 provide educational service to approximately 20 students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to grade 9.
Regular Early Learning Educator – approx. 8.5 hours/week
Assignment includes - Tuesdays & Thursday 12:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and some additional days for scheduled Professional Development and Early Learning meetings.
Hays School Early Learning Program Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic program educator with experience in Early Childhood Education and a clear understanding of the importance of learning through play. Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan daily programming and direct staff are required. Experience in a program leadership role and Early Childhood Education Certificate or Diploma is preferred
If you enjoy working with students in kindergarten to grade 3 this job is for you. Many of our students are Low German Mennonite, so knowledge of the culture would be considered an asset.

An Educational Assistant in Horizon School Division:
- Encourages students to develop and maintain positive interaction.
- Maintains confidentiality and a patient, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to students.
- As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuring that student dignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.
- Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring student equipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attempt to leave their learning environment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting students who utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).
- Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
