Human Resources Generalist
About the role
Human Resources Generalist Position Summary We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support a growing accounting firm. This role will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, policy administration, compliance, onboarding, and HR operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive employee experience while ensuring HR programs and practices align with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources Programs & Initiatives Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that support organizational goals and workforce growth. Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and employee engagement initiatives. Promote a consistent, positive, and inclusive employee experience across multiple locations.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruitment activities for a variety of professional, administrative, and operational positions. Collaborate with department leaders to identify workforce requirements and support hiring strategies. Coordinate and enhance onboarding programs to ensure successful integration of new employees. Support workforce planning and recruitment process improvements.
Employee Relations & Performance Support Provide guidance and support regarding employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and performance management processes. Assist leaders with conflict resolution, coaching conversations, and employee development initiatives. Help foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect.
HR Compliance & Administration Ensure HR practices remain compliant with applicable federal and provincial employment legislation. Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Support workplace investigations, corrective action processes, and employee separations as required. Monitor and communicate updates related to employment standards and HR best practices.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations Support the administration of employee benefits programs and HR information systems. Maintain accurate employee data and reporting within HR platforms. Assist with payroll administration by validating employee information, attendance records, leaves of absence, and related documentation. Generate HR metrics and reports to support business decisions and workforce planning.
Qualifications
2–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a professional or corporate environment. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. HR designation (or actively working toward one) is considered an asset. Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices. Experience supporting employees and leaders across multiple locations is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
