Position Summary

As an Environmental Services Attendant (ESA), you will provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain resident rooms, common areas, and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Reporting to the Environmental Services Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team and other departments to ensure resident comfort, safety, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident Housekeeping: Clean and maintain resident suites, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, and changing linens. Replenish supplies and maintain resident privacy at all times.
  • Common Areas & Grounds: Ensure cleanliness and safety of hallways, lounges, dining areas, offices, and exterior grounds. Assist with set-up for events and other cleaning or maintenance duties as requested.
  • Laundry Services: Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron resident clothing and in-house linens according to procedures. Ensure timely return of items and proper labeling. Report equipment malfunctions or low supplies to the Supervisor.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other departments, assist coworkers as needed, and maintain a dependable attendance record.
  • Customer Service: Interact with residents and families in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner. Address concerns promptly and report issues to management.
  • Workplace Health & Safety: Follow all infection control protocols and safety procedures. Report hazards or incidents and participate in health and safety programs, including Fire Prevention and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Skills Development: Attend required training, in-services, and department meetings to remain current with policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping and/or laundry in a residential or hospitality environment is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning, laundry, and lifting tasks.
  • Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.
  • Must adhere to company dress code, personal appearance, and immunization policies.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) and visual acuity to ensure cleaning tasks meet standards.
