About the role

As Director, Business Data and Analytics, you play a key role in the major Business Sector transformation by overseeing its data governance, data valorization strategy and analytics maturity. Your leadership is key to building a data-driven culture that supports Desjardins’s major strategic directions. Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Operations and Risk Management, you’re responsible for the sound governance of sector data, including quality, accessibility, compliance and security. You also serve as a delegate business data and analytics officer and provide influential leadership to your 1LOD partners, as well as 2LOD and 3LOD partners. You draw on your ability to rally teams around a common vision, navigate complexity, embody efficiency in your work and foster interdisciplinary collaboration to be an ambassador of the transformation and position data as a strategic asset that helps in decision making and creates value for members and clients. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Be responsible for developing and operationalizing the Business data strategy, with the goal of grounding our business practices in data and analytics.
  • Be a leader in understanding business needs for governance and data valorization to optimize business value, data quality and compliance with modern technology.
  • Recommend and implement advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to improve the member/client experience, increase organizational efficiency, support growth and manage risks.
  • Provide leadership in the development of modern analytical foundations, including data marts and self-service solutions in the Desjardins Group data platform.
  • Coordinate Business sector transformation projects requiring data expertise.
  • Implement a clear governance framework to enable responsible data management and ensure data quality.
  • Manage changes and maintain our publication portfolio, particularly through production cycles and contributions to the business plan.
  • Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement and diversity, in keeping with Desjardins’s values.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience, including at least six years of management experience in a similar role
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Significant experience in program and project management
  • Management experience in a context of transformation
  • Significant experience implementing business intelligence environments and capabilities
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, management and valorization
  • In-depth knowledge of the various Business sector activities
