Qualifications/Experience:
Under the direction of Dr. Lucyshyn-Wright, Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science, duties include:
– independent and collaborative research in abstract mathematics on campus at Brandon University;
– writing notes to communicate research progress;
– attending in-person meetings at Brandon University;
– collaborative discussion and reporting of research progress in meetings;
– assisting in preparing articles, publications, reports, and/or presentations;
– assigned reading and study in mathematics;
– training activities on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in science;
– other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
– Completed course requirements for four-year Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with excellent marks;
– Documented excellent performance in an abstract/modern algebra course;
– Evidence of strong aptitude in pure mathematics and of excellent performance in pure mathematics;
– Effective written and verbal communication;
– Evidence of effective independent written work in pure mathematics, such as formal survey papers or research papers;
– Evidence of effective written research work in pure mathematics, such as research papers or theses;
– Completion of an advanced independent study / topics course or thesis is an asset.
– Research experience in category theory is an asset.
