Location: Ridgeview Animal Hospital 605?10833 160 St, Surrey, BC Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (1 position available)

Ridgeview Animal Hospital, located in the Fraser Heights area of Surrey, BC, is a proud AAHA-accredited practice committed to delivering high-quality veterinary care for small animals. We are equipped with digital X-ray, dental and surgical suites, exam rooms, an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, and more?ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, a collaborative team player, and has a genuine passion for animals and client care.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Client communication
- Patient intake and initial assessments
- Placing IV catheters and collecting blood/samples
- Taking radiographs (X-rays)
- Preparing and administering medications and vaccines
- Surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op)
- Assisting veterinarians during surgical/dental procedures
- Conducting in-house lab testing (blood, urine, cytology)
- Educating clients on medication use, home care, and preventive care
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient medical records
- Performing minor procedures such as nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expressions, suture removal, and bandage changes
- Managing clinic inventory including medications and supplies
- Supporting veterinary office assistants with daily operations
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative mindset
- Multitasking and organizational skills
- Proficient with computers; veterinary software experience is an asset
- A passion for continuous learning and professional growth
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program
- Current registration and active license with the BCVTA
- New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply

About Ridgeview Animal Hospital
The origins of Omaha Vets Group:
Ridgeview Animal Hospital was established by Dr. Joanne Gaines in a growing West Omaha in 2001. At the time, Wal-Mart had just opened across the street and Lowe’s was under construction. To the west was nothing but open horizon!
Dr. Gaines had the goal of opening a practice where she could provide progressive, quality veterinary care efficiently and with a personal touch. By 2003, we had two full-time doctors, and in 2005 Dr. Gaines’s husband Adam joined the practice as Business Manager. Soon the hospital building was expanded and we added a third veterinarian. As of today, we have four veterinarians and eight licensed veterinary technicians on staff to serve you and your pet!
In 2008, Dr. Gaines opened Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic in Papillion with BJ Ravnsborg, a classmate from Kansas State University. That partnership also led to the opening of Skyline Veterinary Clinic in Elkhorn in 2016. 2021 brought the addition of The Ridge, as a satellite clinic to Ridgeview. Fall of 2022 brought the addition of Dr. Michael Siggers to our group, changing his clinic name to Cottner Creek Pet Clinic.
2023 the network of clinics was officially branded "Omaha Vets Group", and our newest location Coventry Veterinary Clinic slated for summer. Nearing 100 full time employees and counting, including our own administrative team to handle our own IT, accounting and payroll, as well as the day to day management of the clinics. We are proud of our integrated management approach that is local and allows our teams to collaborate for the benefit of the pets in our community.
We are proud to offer full-service veterinary care for pets and we make their comfort and happiness our priority. Routine wellness care, advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, behavior, nutrition, on-site lab, pharmacy, grooming, acupuncture and more—we want to be a one-stop resource and a partner the pet’s health care. All our facilities focus on preventive care and client education to give pets as many happy, healthy years as possible.
Just as they were when Ridgeview first opened, our core values remain intact: we are Progressive, Compassionate, Trustworthy, value Teamwork and most of all, a Family. We get to know our clients personally, value their time, and always try to exceed their expectations.
