Position Summary:
The General Labourer role may perform a variety of tasks, including assembling, inspecting and packaging castings/assemblies according to work instructions to support the company's ability to meet customer shipment delivery commitments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
To assemble, inspect and package castings/assemblies to customer specifications to enable the Company to meet customer shipment delivery commitments.

Receive and review work instructions to verify required activities;

Weigh parts, remove flash, machining burrs using appropriate deburring tools/machines, and/or hand degate castings according to work and/or special instructions;

Assemble parts using specialized tools where indicated on the manufacturing instruction sheet;

Wash and dry castings following recognized procedures;

Re-label and re-weigh parts through the packing scale, verify boxed quantity, and provide Q.A. with the number of parts required for inspection;

Hand degate, package castings and ensure printed packing label information is correct;

Visually inspect castings for contamination/defect, remove non-conforming parts, complete required reworking, weigh up, and record scrapped pieces at end of shift, including why parts scrapped;

Fill skid and distribute to appropriate location; Load ingots and scrap into pots as required.
To regularly perform required housekeeping duties to continually maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Clean/wash/vacuum machines each shift;
- Wash and mop work area floor each shift;
- Reposition skids using pallet trucks as needed to ensure oncoming shifts have sufficient parts.
Education & Experience Required**:**
- Minimum Grade 10;
- Minimum of one (1) years' production/machine/manufacturing experience, preferably within an ISO certified manufacturing environment
- Previous experience safely operating a pallet truck preferred;
- Previous experience in a capacity requiring part/product visual inspection for extended periods
- Previous experience in parts/product assembly preferred;
- Previous experience safely operating an electric hand cart preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required**:**
- Advanced level manual dexterity skills;
- Basic level mechanical aptitude skills;
- 20/20 vision (natural or assisted) to visually detect casting non-conformances;
- Ability to lift continuously over the course of the shift.
