We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team. The Electrician position performs a wide variety of electrical and electronic installation and related maintenance functions required to maintain the environment of Government owned and occupied buildings in order to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of building occupants and users in the most cost effective manner possible. General administration tasks are required to ensure timely accurate records are provided and perform a variety of inspections to determine the requirements for preventive maintenance.

Essential Qualifications

Journeyman Electrician with interprovincial Red Seal certificate

Experience maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and installing a wide variety of electrical and electronic systems (including fire alarms)

Experience with HVAC and DDC control systems

Basic computer skills would be an asset (Microsoft Outlook, Word, etc.)
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and controls
- Troubleshooting and installation of electrical and electronic systems
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- Valid Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification;
- Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent;
- RCMP Vulnerable Security Clearance.
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:
- Travel, working in adverse weather conditions;
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment;
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
