We're looking for an experienced and people-focused HR Coordinator to join our HR team in a broad, hands-on role. You'll be a key point of contact for employees and leaders across the organization ? supporting everything from full-cycle recruitment and employee relations to health and safety compliance and HR reporting. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and genuinely enjoys making a difference in the day-to-day experience of the people around them.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns across all departments.
- Support progressive discipline processes and prepare related documentation.
- Administer the attendance management program and monitor patterns proactively.
- Champion monthly cultural initiatives, recognition programs, and milestone celebrations to strengthen employee engagement.
- Coordinate background checks and maintain a database of employee clearances.
Talent Management
- Own the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions ? from sourcing to offer.
- Partner with operations leaders to deliver effective onboarding and ensure new hires are set up for success.
- Draft offer letters, employment addendums, and supporting documents.
- Participate in probationary and termination meetings and prepare all required documentation.
- Conduct exit interviews and surface insights to support retention.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records in Dayforce HCM and support system administration.
- Prepare HR correspondence, employment letters, and policy documentation.
- Respond to external agency inquiries from WorkSafeBC, Service Canada, and ICBC.
- Assist with policy reviews, employee handbook updates, and visa expiry tracking.
Health, Wellness & Safety
- Chair the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee and ensure follow-through on action items.
- Administer the OHS program and coordinate required training to maintain WorkSafeBC compliance.
- Manage the return-to-work process for injured workers, including Recover at Work proposals and weekly documentation.
- Conduct the annual OHS program review and maintain all related records.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare weekly holiday reports and monthly HR and safety statistics for the HR Manager.
- Contribute HR updates to the company newsletter and internal communications.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as they arise.
Required Skills & Experience
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field ? or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in an HR coordination or generalist role.
- Solid working knowledge of BC employment legislation including the ESA, Workers Compensation Act, and Human Rights Code.
- Experience with Dayforce HCM or a comparable HRIS system is strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities with ease.
- Ability to travel between company sites as required
- Working towards a CPHR designation as an asset
