About the role
Position Summary The VP Marketing, & Government Relations will work closely with the President & CEO and senior technical team to develop and manage RZOLV's communications strategy, technical marketing materials, government funding initiatives, shareholder communications, and global engagement activities. The role requires a strong writer, disciplined communicator, strategic organizer, and relationship builder who can move comfortably between technical documentation, news releases, government liaison, investor materials, social media, conferences, trade shows, executive travel, and international delegations.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications & News Releases Prepare, edit, and coordinate company news releases, corporate updates, shareholder communications, quarterly newsletters, announcements, executive messages, technical summaries, and other external communications. Ensure messaging is accurate, credible, technically disciplined, and appropriate for scientific, engineering, mining, government, and investor audiences.
Government Relations & Funding Initiatives Support and coordinate RZOLV's engagement with Canadian and U.S. government agencies, funding bodies, grant programs, innovation initiatives, clean technology programs, critical minerals programs, and strategic funding opportunities. Assist with grant applications, government submissions, briefing materials, meeting preparation, follow-up documentation, and reporting requirements.
Shareholder Communications & Database Management Manage shareholder communications, shareholder database updates, quarterly newsletters, investor updates, mailing lists, contact management, and response coordination. Maintain organized records of shareholders, strategic contacts, government contacts, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Social Media & Digital Presence Manage RZOLV's social media presence and digital communications strategy, including LinkedIn and other relevant professional platforms. Develop posts and content that support RZOLV's technical credibility, industry positioning, government engagement, trade show activity, and commercial progress.
Trade Shows, Conferences & Delegations Plan and coordinate RZOLV's participation in mining, metallurgy, critical minerals, recycling, clean technology, and government-related trade shows and conferences. Support booth planning, presentation materials, meeting schedules, delegation participation, speaking opportunities, follow-up materials, and event logistics.
Global Affairs & Strategic Partner Support Support international business development and global affairs initiatives, including travel delegations, strategic partner meetings, government missions, and engagement with companies, institutions, and agencies in Canada, the United States, India, Japan, and other target markets.
Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience in marketing, communications, investor relations, government relations, public affairs, or strategic communications, preferably in mining, metallurgy, critical minerals, clean technology, engineering, energy, advanced materials, industrial technology, or public-company environments. The candidate should be an exceptional writer and editor with the ability to understand technical material and convert it into clear, credible, and professional communications. Experience with government grants, innovation funding, trade missions, shareholder communications, conference planning, and technical presentations would be highly valuable.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, government relations, investor relations, public affairs, or corporate development support.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong ability to work with technical teams and communicate complex scientific, engineering, or industrial information clearly.
- Experience preparing news releases, shareholder communications, presentations, brochures, executive briefings, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience with government funding programs, grant applications, public-sector engagement, or innovation funding initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, events, contacts, and communications workstreams.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential corporate, technical, shareholder, and government-related information.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where the role is both strategic and hands-on.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mining, hydrometallurgy, metallurgy, critical minerals, clean technology, recycling, chemicals, engineering, or industrial technology.
- Experience with Canadian and U.S. government funding programs.
- Experience supporting public-company communications, investor relations, shareholder databases, or capital markets communications.
- Experience organizing trade shows, technical conferences, global delegations, or government missions.
- Familiarity with social media, X, Instagram, LinkedIn content management, CRM/contact databases, email newsletters, and presentation design.
- Understanding of technical disclosure discipline and the importance of avoiding overstated claims.
Compensation Salary range: C$75,000 to C$135,000, depending on experience. Additional compensation may include performance bonus, stock options or equity participation, benefits, and travel-related support, subject to company policy and final employment terms.
Location This role is based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, with a hybrid work structure and regular in-person meetings with the CEO and technical team. Domestic and international travel will be required.
