Landscape Designer / Office Coordinator. About The Role
- We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer who is passionate about designing exceptional outdoor living spaces. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-end residential design-build projects ranging from $50,000 to $500,000+.
- As a Landscape Designer / Office Coordinator, you will collaborate with clients, project managers, and field teams to bring outdoor concepts to life-from initial consultation through construction completion. The role combines design creativity, client interaction, project coordination, and office support to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Landscape Design & Client Experience
- Meet with clients to understand project goals, budgets, and design preferences
- Develop concept designs, 3D renderings, and detailed landscape plans
- Produce landscape drawings, grading plans, elevations, and planting layouts
- Assist clients in selecting materials, plantings, lighting, and outdoor features
- Label and specify plant materials and construction elements for documentation
- Prepare material take-offs, job estimates, and preliminary cost calculations
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements, photos, and site inventory
- Perform field reviews during construction to ensure designs are executed as intended
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams during construction
- Support contract administration and project documentation
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes, grading requirements, and site constraints
- Maintain accurate design files and project documentation
- Office Coordination & Administrative Support
- Manage incoming client inquiries and consultation scheduling
- Assist with proposal preparation, design presentations, and reports
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Support estimating and purchasing processes with material tracking
- Coordinate schedules between clients, designers, and field teams
- Help maintain efficient office workflows and communication
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of landscape construction, horticulture, and plant materials
- Understanding of grading, planting design, stormwater management, and construction detailing
- Ability to prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent client service and relationship-building abilities
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred / Asset Skills
- Knowledge of hardscaping (pavers, retaining walls, steps, coping)
- Knowledge of softscaping (grading, sod installation, planting, garden bed preparation)
- Experience with water features, landscape lighting, and outdoor living design
- Hand sketching or conceptual drawing skills
- Experience working in a design-build environment
Requirements
- Valid G Driver's License
- Ability to conduct site visits and occasional outdoor work
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
