Position Summary
As the Content & Social Media Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing Discover Saskatoon’s marketing strategies by collaborating with creative agencies, contractors, and internal teams to execute high-quality content and social media initiatives. This role focuses on ensuring Saskatoon’s digital presence reflects campaign goals, amplifies our storytelling, and delivers measurable value to stakeholders and members.
You will oversee the development and use of Discover Saskatoon’s content library, lead blogging efforts to capture community voices, and ensure social media channels are aligned with agency-led campaigns. Your ability to collaborate and execute will be critical in driving engagement, strengthening partnerships, and showcasing Saskatoon as a destination of choice.

● Blogging & Storytelling: Lead blogging initiatives by developing original content and coordinating with community bloggers to authentically represent Saskatoon’s diverse voices.
● Content Library Management: Maintain and organize the content library, ensuring digital assets are catalogued, accessible, and optimized for campaign and partner use.
● Photo & Video Production Support: Coordinate photo and video shoots by managing logistics, timelines, and creative alignment with brand and campaign objectives.
● Content Alignment: Collaborate across the Marketing & Communications team to ensure content supports Discover Saskatoon’s business priorities, industry objectives, and stakeholder expectations
2. Content Oversight & Execution
● Platform Execution: Implement organic and paid social media plans across all priority platforms, ensuring messaging, creative, and cadence reflect seasonal priorities and nano-campaigns.
● Community Management: Monitor social communities (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube), respond to inquiries, and foster a positive, engaging brand presence.
● Influencer & Creator Coordination: Manage creator and influencer partnerships by coordinating deliverables, timelines, approvals, and performance tracking.
● Analytics & Insights: Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to enhance reach, engagement, and audience growth across platforms.
● Content Capture: Capture high-quality photos and short-form videos to support storytelling, elevate brand representation, and enhance digital engagement.
● Scheduling & Publishing: Plan, schedule, and organize posts using tools such as Hootsuite to maintain consistent and strategic publishing across channels.
3. Campaign Support
● Campaign Execution: Implement digital and social media components of Discover Saskatoon’s marketing campaigns in collaboration with creative agencies and internal teams.
● Message Amplification: Ensure social media platforms accurately amplify key campaign messages and deliver measurable results that contribute to broader marketing goals.
● Cross-Team Integration: Coordinate with internal departments to ensure campaign deliverables are aligned, integrated, and delivered on schedule. Support video production by managing schedules, approvals, and alignment with campaign messaging and creative direction.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
● Partner Engagement: Build strong relationships with members, partners, and community content creators to support collaborative storytelling and campaign success.
● Agency Liaison: Serve as a key connection point between Discover Saskatoon and agency partners to streamline workflows, share updates, and ensure brand consistency.
● Brand Representation: Support agency-led initiatives by ensuring Discover Saskatoon’s brand voice, tone, and visual identity are consistently applied across all outputs.
5. Measurement & Reporting
● Performance Tracking: Track, analyze, and report on social media metrics, campaign outcomes, and engagement indicators using digital analytics tools.
● Insight Development: Use data to inform recommendations, support optimization efforts, and guide continuous improvement in content and social execution.
● Trend Monitoring: Stay informed of digital, social, and content trends, emerging platform features, and best practices to support innovation and relevance in all content output.
