Child and Trauma Therapist (Contractor) - Job Posting
Location:
Treehouse Trauma Centre, Fort Langley, BC
Employment Type:
20 client hours/week, mornings, evenings, and potentially weekends, contract
Compensation:
60/40 split of client fees
Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Trauma Therapist to join our team. As a contractor, you will provide expert therapeutic services to child and adult clients dealing with trauma, helping them navigate their healing journeys. This role requires a trauma and play therapy-trained professional committed to excellence, continual learning, and embodying the mission of Treehouse Trauma Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy with a focus on trauma recovery using the 3-phase approach (Safety, Processing, Integration). Utilize therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to EMDR, OEI, Lifespan Integration Therapy, Play Therapy, and body-based approaches.
- Conduct initial intake assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and perform ongoing evaluations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records.
- Participate in regular consultation and professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest in trauma treatment.
- Manage your own schedule and ensure the timely and accurate submission of invoices and documentation.
- Actively seek opportunities to grow our client base and increase our professional network through community outreach and education efforts.

Qualifications

Education:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.

Licensure:
Current licensure as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Canadian Certified Counsellor, Psychologist, Registered Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist in BC.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in providing trauma therapy.

Training:
Specialized training in trauma-focused therapeutic approaches such as EMDR, Lifespan Integration Therapy, OEI, Synergetic Play Therapy, body-based approaches and other evidence based techniques.

Skills:

Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating trauma.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to maintain detailed and accurate client records.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest in trauma and child treatment.

Participates in regular consultation to allow for second opinions and continued Person of the Therapist development.
