Project Opportunity As part of the PNC project, FCC is looking for a Facility Manager - TBM Plant Manager to join our team.
Position Summary Reports to: Tunnel Construction Manager
The Facility Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, dimensioning, procurement, installation, and maintenance of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and associated equipment and installations. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of tunneling activities for the Project.
The Facility Manager’s Key Responsibilities Are
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans for the installation and operation of the TBM and associated facilities.
- Assess spatial requirements and ensure adequate dimensioning of the facilities to accommodate equipment and personnel.
- Identify and evaluate suitable vendors and suppliers for TBM and associated equipment.
- Coordinate procurement processes in compliance with project guidelines and budget constraints.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Oversee the installation of TBM and associated equipment according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate seamless integration of facilities into the project site.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure proper installation and functionality of equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for TBM and associated facilities.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external service providers.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and breakdowns, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to facility management and equipment operation.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks associated with tunnelling operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years' experience in acquiring and maintaining equipment for heavy civil infrastructure similar projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of construction documentation management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. Experience with various document control software.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in facility management, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Familiarity with tunneling operations and equipment, particularly Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
