Planning and Scheduling for a manufacturing facility weekday schedule

Job Overview

The Production Scheduler is a integral part of the label making operation. The individual is responsible for ensuring that when orders come in to the location, those orders have the material on site for production of the finished project. The scheduler also coordinates the orders in such a way as to run the 5 print lines smoothly with as little downtime as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain process flows of orders for production
• Plan and schedule all production orders to meet agreed commitments.
• Assist in inventory duties as needed to fulfil orders received
• Assist with maintaining material inventory levels at or below agreed targets.
• Work closely with production efficiency.
• Continuously pursuing opportunities to reduce costs without impacting quality or service.
• Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with all departments.
• Provide reports and data analysis as required.
• Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a natural positive can-do attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-driven requiring very little guidance and a strong work ethic
• MUST possess a knowledge and skills of working with computer software in general
• Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Problem-solving aptitude.

Experience

• Prefer someone with previous scheduling experience
• Working knowledge of computer software functionality-Excel is one example of knowledge that is useful
• Will train the right candidate
